I have played microstakes on pokerstars for 5 years and am a marginally winning player. I try to play decent ranges, play based on position and as well as villain tendencies. To improve I watch videos, read and do hand reviews.

How do you get to the next level? What is the next level? After readings some of the hand reviews here in Cardschat I realized how little I actually know.

Sounds like you do the right considerations. If you haven’t read poker litterature I’d recommend “Strategies For Beating Small Stakes Cash Games” by Jonathan Little. A true gem.
You say you “realized how little I actually know.” Perhaps this is because you actually know more than before. At any given topic the more you know, the more questions pop up. This is progressive learning. So keep on plugging bro.

The next level for you would be to be a larger winner at micro stakes. To do this you need to post more of your hands here. You want to post your winning hands to ask if you got full value as well as losing hands. Do you use a poker tracker for hand reviews? Does your tracker have a leak finder? Use that to find issues in your game and focus on those issues.:geek:

Once you address your major leaks, maybe it will be time to increase the volume by playing more games before increasing pressure by trying to raise stakes

I know/think I know my major leaks. I just have to plug them. It is hard to fold top pair especially against a villain who likes to bluff.
Thanks for your comment.

Hello, I think a big step, based on what I have read in your answers and in others, is not only to play with your cards, but also with those of your opponent. A clear example is when you say “it's difficult to retire with a double partner”. That will depend on your opponent's hand. You should also know that, just as you analyze your opponent and know that he is a retiring player, he also knows your style of play and that you will not withdraw a double pair against him.
In short, the advice would be: analyze more than just the basic game of each opponent, learn to retire in time, be patient and slowly increase the buy-in level.
