Pre-Flop: Playing Aggressively

Raise Pre-Flop: With a pair of Aces, you should almost always raise. This helps to increase the pot and protect your hand by eliminating players with speculative hands who could hit on the flop. The amount of the raise should be adjusted according to the table. At more passive tables, a larger raise may be ideal to extract more value.
Re-Raise (3-bet): If another player raises before you, a re-raise is almost always the best move. This isolates the players who have weaker hands and increases the size of the pot in preparation for maximizing the value of your hand.

Hello there,

I learned that too back then, so the ideas tend to be okay for now. I found it a little confusing to bet larger at more passive tables - wouldn't that scare everyone away?

Eventually, you will begin to vary a little. When players begin to respect of fear you at the table, you are forced to get a little creative and may deviate from that line a bit. Mixing things up can be fun :D

Enjoy the lesson at the poker table - they never stop!
