Here are 4 key tips that separate good players from great ones. Let’s dive in. 🧵
♠️ Position is EVERYTHING.
Playing from late position gives you a massive advantage. You see what your opponents do before acting, allowing you to make better decisions. Don’t underestimate this edge. #PokerTips
♥️ Manage your tilt.
Tilt can destroy your bankroll faster than bad luck. Learn to recognize your emotional triggers and take a break when needed. A calm mind is a winning mind. #PokerMindset
♣️ Study ranges, not hands.
Stop focusing on specific cards. Start thinking about ranges your opponents could have. What makes sense based on their actions? Poker is a game of probabilities, not certainties. #PokerStrategy
♦️ Bankroll management is non-negotiable.
Treat your bankroll like a business. Never risk more than 5% of it in a single session. Discipline now = survival later.

Great pointers, especially position and tilt. Only one thibng was ommitted: the pre-tilt shove, when your run is trending badly, you are on the verge of tilting, but you can see the trend, and shove yourself away from the poker table.

I would also add knowledge of poker mathematics, preflop and postflop charts, various subtleties such as SPR, Call 20, the ability to value bet and bluff

Thank you for reminding me of the basics. I still have a hard time with the opponents range of hands and the tilt.

I agree with all but one statement. I do not believe that position is everything, and those who think so have a disadvantage rather than an advantage. Position is definitely very important, but it is definitely not the decisive factor.

Those basics are important. But I think there is more wonderful knowledge out there. Let's listen to various opinions.

I think your students lucky to have you as a professor in case you are teaching...

Any Wisdom from Nording language we are can play to the game?
No, I don’t see any relevance pokerwise in Nordic Languages (Danish, Sweedish, Norwegian and Icelandic.) Some of my students are avid poker players. But they have no clue that I play too. I just don’t tell them😉 I only have a coupla lectures weekly.

Don't rush into decisions, use the time bank to think things through, check out of position, and spend twice as much time playing as you do studying, but be sure to study.

A lot of the CC players could benefit from not open limping(being the first to limp). With every player sitting out open limping becomes even worse.

Not keen on some of the preflop weaker ranges and when I watch some of the pro's they seem to be folding much stronger hands than suggested in many positions.

The top things I look to do for the ideal set up:
1. Position
2. Be the Raiser
3. Be heads up
4. Have a great hand
If I have to give up one of these it’s having a great hand, even if we have a moderate hand we can be profitable in this spot.
Position is and will always be number 1. Unless I have 10 BBs then I can push from any position it doesn’t matter.
Good luck friends!
