Keep a poker diary for
hands that you played well, and the hands where you know you really messed up. This will become a reference guide so you hopefully don't keep making the same mistakes. It can also put your mind at ease...I remember telling my son that I lose with KK more often than not. He was skeptical and suggested I keep track of all the hands where I was dealt pocket Kings. After over 100 entries, I checked my stats. I WON over 70% of my KK hands...BUT, here's the problem...I often, after a small raise, only won the blinds...limping with KK can prove disastrous. BUT...when I lost with KK, it was usually a huge hand...so, in effect, I had a big winning percentage by hands, but a net LOSS in money.
