Hi everyone,

I'm looking to understand the pre-flop odds of hitting specific hands in Texas Hold'em, especially with certain starting hands. Could anyone break down the probabilities for the following scenarios?

  1. Flush with Suited Cards: What are the odds of making a flush when you start with two suited cards?
  2. Straight with Connected Cards: What are the odds of making a straight when you have two connected cards (for example, 6♣ 5♦)?
  3. Straight or Flush with Suited Connected Cards: What are the odds of making a straight or a flush when you have two suited and connected cards (for example, 6♠ 5♠)?
I’d really appreciate any insight or resources that explain these odds in detail. Thanks a lot!

You ask for PF .
1. and 3.: So chances for a 2 card FD are 10.94%, to hit an OESD (Open ended straight draw things like 5678 and similar) 1 and 2 card in sum 7.14%, and to hit a flush directly 0.83%.

Flushdraw

2. chances to hit a straight 1.06%, to hit an OESD with 1 or 2 card(s) in sum 7.23%.

Straightpfconnect

and for the luckgamblers comparing those two ranges:

connectors vs. pairs:

Connectors vs pairs

suited connectors vs. pairs:

SC vs pairs

and combined SC and connectors vs. pairs:

Combined SC Con vs pairs

But this is PF, things can change drastically with the flop or multiway, too many hands in actual times are multiway and go to the river,
what gives luckgamblers and people with no mathematical correct play(needed odds for a call) more chances.
