Hi there - First time poster.

I have played poker on and off for around 15 years, mainly home games but some online and some casino tournaments. I'm looking to get into Poker and start to take it a bit more seriously.

What books would you recommend, I will probably start at micro stakes MTT's. Any recommendations which are designed for that?

Thank you in advance

The #1 is micro stakes strategy from J. Little.
As you're kinda experienced, I'd go with the poker mental game (1 and 2), it changed my game.

Jared Tendler---The Mental Game of Poker Vol1-2 great books to help with the most difficult part of poker--- the wrong mindset cannot be helped by math skills or hand reading--- read these books first.:geek::love:

I think Little has maybe the best free and certainly the most numbers of instructional videos online - especially for MTTs.

His book Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker - The Essential Guide covers how to play at different stack depths.

I like Jonathan Little's book, I got that a few years back. I did try to read Jared's book but I got too overwhelmed with it, I will definitely have to try again at some point!

Hello! To get started in the world of poker, I recommend the book "Master Poker: A Complete Guide for Beginners." This book will help you understand the basics of the game and give you a good foundation to start playing.

The only thing I can add is its more important to study the material than it is to read or watch the material regardless of whatever you decide to go with.

That means not only reading the book a few times but thinking about it while playing and raising questions about the advice while playing.

Whether its popular options like daniel's or doyle's or little's or Acevedo's or it's your favorite media influencer's book or video or whatever you choose, you have to record your results so you know where you are and continuously question their advice.

If you're in a spot and wondering what to do then ask your author what would they do.

Even if they don't explicitly tell you in their books/media then you should still have a ballpark idea what they would say for spots as the author has explained their thought process enough to the point where you're not too far off or they've given you the tools to point you in the right direction to answer your question.

But again, you're usually not going to get that feeling by reading it a few times and putting it away and quickly moving on to something new. You have to put in the work.

It's a good topic. I'm interested in reading what books other players have recommended. Since I haven't read a book on poker strategy and thinking for a long time.
