First of all, we need to clarify what we are talking about, tournaments or cash games. For example, I prefer tournaments. But then again, there are several factors to consider. It's important to understand the format and structure of the tournament, the stage of the tournament, how many players are at the table, and who my opponents are. It all depends on many factors that you need to know, understand and take into account.

Yes. Also acknowledge that the Big Blinds is a forced bet - 1-Bet - that everyone post in turn. This means that it strictly speaking isn’t yours so you are not “defending” BB. This is especially true in cash games. However, this fact doesn’t mean that you should automatically roll over to a move.
Overall BB is a minus EV seat. You don’t pay your rent from BB.

The basic BB rule at 100bb stack is what position are we playing vs. UTG vs BB is a much different strategy than BTN vs BB.
What is that strategy? Range advantage on flop. Vs UTG we have a high % advantage on low boards but only medium % advantage vs BTN.
