Hello cards chat people, I'm fairly new at poker and I'm going to the casino to play for the first time ever and I need some pointers. First of all how do I keep count of what's in the pot without getting confused, and second am I allowed to ask for help at the table. I would really appreciate any information anyone out there can give me.

Welcome to CardsChat @Rocky9812 . Here we go: to keep track of the pot you simply add the blinds and antes if there is and the bets of the street and keep it in your head, then recalculate on the next street. I was a dealer and this was the technique I used.
In tournaments the dealer is not allowed to state the pot value, only in cash games, at least according to the rules here in brazil. If you have any doubts, just ask the dealer at the table, within the rules, they will always guide you, but not on strategies. I hope this helped you a bit. GL at the tables!

Cool let us know how you did! Yea there is no real trick to counting the pot you just have to pay attention try to count it in your head. You can practice this when you are not in a hand. When you start playing a lot and getting more experience you can convert your stack to the number of Big Blinds you have and keep track of what the bet sizes are by how many Big Blinds they are betting. So a guy might raise 3 BBs and then it gets 3 bet to 10 BBs, it’s easier to track it this way imo.
Asking for help at the table is a double edge sword. If you do ask for help make sure you do it between hands and never during the hand. When you do ask everyone will know you are new and you will be a target so maybe just keep quiet and watch what everyone else is doing and you will get the hang of it.
Have fun!
