Here’s a brief rundown of omaha poker:
- Setup: Each player is dealt four private cards (hole cards). Five community cards are dealt face-up in the center of the table.
- Objective: Create the best five-card hand using exactly two of your hole cards and three of the community cards.
- Betting Rounds:
- Pre-Flop: After hole cards are dealt, a round of betting occurs.
- Flop: Three community cards are dealt. A second round of betting follows.
- Turn: A fourth community card is dealt. A third round of betting happens.
- River: The fifth and final community card is dealt. The final round of betting occurs.
- Showdown: If more than one player remains after the final betting round, they reveal their hands. The player with the best five-card hand wins the pot. Remember, the best hand must use exactly two of the hole cards and three community cards.
- Hand Rankings: Standard poker hand rankings apply (e.g., straight flush, four of a kind, full house, etc.).
