Does bluffing still work?

Sometimes I bluff, and it's real. But the opponent has a bad hand and raises the bet..

Yes It works! Just yesterday I bluffed that would cost me my place in today's Sunday Millions. It's over... I'm glad it's over. 🤣

It works if don't right and the story you're trying to tell makes sense and the players at whatever level you play are actually paying attention and not calling stations. If you're just throwing out big bets in hope of getting a fold then no it won't work. If your VPIP is to high bluffing won't work. If you're playing micro stakes you can almost forget about bluffing altogether as the majority are calling stations, aren't paying attention and aren't even thinking about what you might have as they're only playing their own 2 cards and nothing else.

All in all at micro/low stakes there's very players paying attention, thinking about ranges/what you have and capable of folding. At micro/low stakes you generally wanna bluff less and value bet more.

Bluffing works if you know your opponents. If you don't know them, it's better not to bluff. There is a high probability that your bluff will not work simply because the opponent is playing bingo.

It depends what you mean by bluffing. At hold 'em especially, a player will often bet strongly with a bad hand believing the other player or players are weaker. Sometimes they are.
