Bluff: When?

Bluffing has always seemed like one of the angriest parts of poker to me.. That idea of winning a hand without having to have the best card seemed like something from a movie to me. But then came the reality: I tried some epic bluffs and I felt bad. ​

The real thing is that you can't always force a story. There were times when I tried to push the guy out of my hand, but he wouldn't even blink and pay easily. Then I realized that my bluff didn't make any sense. The secret - which I'm still learning - is to choose the moments well. If the guy is showing a lot of interest in the hand, it might be better not to invent fashion. Now, if he's a little hesitant, then it might be worth the risk.
But what I learned the most was that bluffing only works if it makes sense within the game. If my bet doesn't match the story I'm going to tell, the guys notice. And when they realized it... my friend, that's it.

There are lots of bluffing opportunities that you will see open up to you when you have the experience, the knowledge and the discipline.
Some spots are better than other spots.
Great spots are with one single opponent.

It’s good to study and be a master of this part of your game, not only to improve your gameplay by winning pots you are not supposed to win, but also to defend yourself against players that know how and when to bluff and apply pressure to you.

Knowing your opponents tendencies will help you. If you see a guy not folding his small pair to all the over cards, this is not your victim!
