I've been trying to be more aggressive, but sometimes I get lost. How do you have the right dose of aggressiveness in the microphones?

Hey lapgame.
Hope you’re well.

This is a really good question. I’ve been playing for quite a while. I’m by no means a great player, but I do ok recreationally. Please take my opinion with a pinch of salt 😂.

I honestly believe you can’t be aggressive at every table. Sometimes, there are going to people that are thinking the same, are richer than you, and a lot of the time just will not fold.

At these tables, I would absolutely abandon my aggression plan and try to let their aggression play right into my hands. On occasion, you can also get super aggressive with them, but I’d tend to do that if I know I’m far ahead and don’t want to be caught out.

I guess my advice would be to stay smart, focused and balanced. Don’t be super aggressive every hand you play. Gauge the table and play accordingly.

Hope this helps.
Keep Studying. Keep Grinding. Have Fun.

The key is to study the why of aggressive action. Why does aggression work? When does it work best? When does it not work at all? What you will find is we have to be good at range reading and range refining to have the proper level of aggression.:geek:

It also depends what you specifically mean by Aggression.

If you mean raising or folding preflop and not just limpihg/calling then its probs never enough. You should almost always do this.

If you are continuing aggression with total bluffs a lot post flop without draws, against calling stations, then clearly this level of aggression at the micros is way way too much

The more aggressive you are the more aggressive your opponents will be and the more chips you will lose . Aggression will not help you , you also need to know when to be aggressive , or else rng punishes you
