It's incredible how poker has changed over the years. In just a blink of an eye, everyone can play poker through online platform now. I still remember back in the days when me and my folks would need to hide in the classroom, after everyone else left the school, quietly, and sneakily playing poker together.

Now, you just need a WiFi / mobile data and a device and you can play poker with your folks anywhere anytime. Things sure have changed quite quickly. It's always sweet to think about those good days.

At that time cbet was an advanced game, it was easier for those who played professionally and it was good, however, for beginners it was very difficult because access to the content/studies was very difficult, which today is super accessible.

In 2005, I was 11 years old, I was still very young for poker. But I heard that it was a good time for online poker

I started playing online poker in 2003 and stopped playing seriously around 2013.

My favorite poker moment was probably when I realized that cash games online were incredibly soft.

And my least favorite was when Americans were no longer allowed to play (or at least had difficulties depositing) on several sites.

2006 I played a freeroll for about 5 hours sitting in the stairs on a pillow with limited comfort in my basement appartment ,reason: it was the only place with wifi connection.

I've only been playing poker since 2018, so I've been playing for over 6 years. I haven't noticed any major changes during this time, the only thing that is significant for me is that I noticed that the number of freerolls has significantly decreased, there used to be more of them.
I wonder what online poker will be like in 15-20 years, I think, given the development of technology and artificial intelligence in particular, poker in the future may become radically different from what it is now.

I started playing online around 2002/03? I wish I could remember exactly when. It may have even been 2001. We had a dial-up service which you connected to via a modem.

I would have been an early member of this Cardschat forum too but I don't remember making many posts. I used to get like a newsletter through my email address, or did I just imagine that?

I do remember my old email address but the password has long left my memory banks.

I used to DJ 4 nights a week, come home after midnight and unwind by logging onto pokerstars and chatting with my new American and Canadian friends and others from around the globe, Opie, Laura, Coon, Babe In Texas, Debbie, Mitch, and many others. We'd search each other out and wait for a spot at the table and the whole table was a hive of activity. 'nh' 'vnh' 'gl' 'ul', you soon picked up the lingo.

It blew my mind (and sometimes still does) how this new technology was making this possible.

Played since I was in my teens but started online just before Moneymaker won the wsop ME(2003) so around 2001 or 2002 I guess it would be. My favorite moments(too many to name one so)....all them up until poker black Friday. As back then it was like literally having a license to print money it was so easy. Pokers still profitable today but back then it was just so much easier and with oceans and oceans and oceans of fish.

Cheers!!!

I started to play poker in 2006 and at that time it was not a popular game in my country like it is now. It was good times to play online poker, so many options of poker rooms and freerolls to play.

Yes, it's passed for a long time but live poker is still much better and evokes more pleasant emotions.

Almost, I met poker in 2006 through a classmate. At that time, there were still rooms like fulltiltpoker or Boss Media's software (Sportingbet, later Mermaid Poker), and I achieved my greatest success on the latter. Since then, I've been playing with smaller, but rather larger breaks, and I'm currently waiting for the inspiration to return to the tables.

In fear of dating myself..oh what the heck, back in the '50s I was a teen ager and my parents held a poker game every Saturday night, not Hold'em but Dealers choice. So I began playing as a teen, I joined Pokerstars and started Hold'em in 2005...the worst moment I ever saw at a poker table in my parents home was one player pulled a gun on another player over a nasty comment he made...no he didnt shoot him. thankfully...

I cannot remember when I started playing on-line, I know the first site I played on was PokerStars, and I still play on them, but in 2005 I was 50 years old, and I believe I was playing long before then, but the reason it is so hard to remember is I used to play for fun money on Facebook, long before I started playing for real money.
Other sites I have played on have gone now or just stopped their poker site in favour of Sports Betting. I was a member of Full Tilt before they got banned from On-line Poker, Eurosport.com was another of my favourite sites before they quit playing Poker.

I started playing poker in 2008 and remember those times you write about. I remember my friend bought a poker set, so my friends and I played with chips and special poker cards. My friends and girlfriends and I would get together at someone's house and play tournaments for real money. And after poker we drank tequila.
