It's a federal law that makes it illegal for banks or credit card companies to send funds to poker sites.

It is the devil's law to prevent us from having legitimate fun.

Basically it prevents US banks from transferring funds to and from off shore casino's (poker rooms included). I don't know how some places like PS and FTP can handle the transfers but every now and then, one will start having issues out of the blue.

What's messed up about it is that gambling isn't illegal according to US law. Though some states ban it such as Washington state does. It's just the transfer of funds that's an issue.

The law is mostly just to protect credit card companies and banks from the perils of doing business with offshore bank accounts. Essentially, poker rooms are just offshore bank accounts, which also happen to take bets and spread gambling games.

They should make prostitution legal, just make the transferring of fluids the issue.......

But, yea, it is messed up about the legalities surrounding online poker.

LMAO - so people still are that naive?

Ya, that's why they passed it in the middle of the night attached to the Safe Harbor Act.
