I've been playing poker for over 15 years, poker has brought me many friends, money and various situations that I can live with. like:
-patience to wait for processes.
-discipline knowing that we have to give up some things to stay in top shape.
-self control situations that you cannot control and we must act calmly and focused around them.
-financial management
-dedication to achieving my goals.
among others.

How long have you been playing poker now, and what has poker taught you?
I've been playing for about 6-7 years. Thanks to poker, I've become more patient and I've become more relaxed about temporary difficulties. Thanks to poker, I've become more emotionally stable and focused. It's even strange, poker is a game of chance that made me more patient and disciplined :)

I have been playing online since 2003. But stopped playing "seriously" in 2013.

Poker has taught me that when the easy money runs out, you move on to another way to earn money.

I still play a little for fun but my concentration and thoughts are almost always elsewhere.

I started playing poker in 1st year university in 1972 (instead of going to class lectures), but did not really play often or consistently until after Chris Moneymaker won the wsop. I have learned about the randomness of life through poker.

I've been playing for a long time and poker has taught me how to deal with emotions, make decisions, be patient and resilient. It has also brought me friends and a little bit of money.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I've been playing poker for 15 years. He taught me to take risks and get frustrated with failure.

Poker taught me to love money! That's first and foremost. Poker has also taught me to be flexible in my decisions not only at the table, but also in everyday life. Poker has also taught me to be patient and diligent. ;)

I've been playing for over sixty years since I was ten or eleven. Up until seven years ago I don't think that it really taught me much, but I did get to spend a lot of happy hours with my parents, co-workers, and friends. :)

In early October 2018 I was making a major change in my life, and at the same time I began playing the 9am Sunday morning tournaments at Foxwoods in Ledyard, CT. I learned that there are a lot nice people everywhere who will welcome others who share their interests. I played those tourneys until March of 2020 when Covid raised it's ugly head and put an end to poker.

Then in the late fall of that year I learned from someone here on Cards Chat that there were poker rooms in New Hampshire. In early December I played my first tournament at the Filotimo casino in Manchester, NH. It taught me that there were the same kind of nice people in northern New England as there were in the southern parts. :)

I’ve been at it long enough to know life’s all about the poker face—and that folding isn’t just for laundry!
