How long have people been playing poker? And does anything change in people's lives before and after playing poker?

It seems that poker, as a card game, has existed for hundreds of years, about 500. And the first mention of this game was recorded in the territories of present-day Italy and Spain.
I think online poker will continue to develop and improve in the coming decades, and thanks to artificial intelligence technologies, the game will become safer and more interesting.

Age is not a barrier for online poker. The main thing is analytical thinking and logic. It seems to me that only in adulthood does a person begin to truly understand himself. What he wants from life, and how to achieve it. In youth, we all want to please someone, friends or parents, and forget about our own happiness, our dreams. So, go for it, guys, life after 50 continues in poker too.

Agree. And perhaps it is even an advantage to be “of a certain age.” 50,60,70. Really, the 22 year old kid might think. There are physical issues when you are older. But as for the mental game older players can be more calm and collected.

If poker is nothing but trouble and stress in your life, then it's better not to play it, any game should bring happiness.

viewed couple documental films, i think poker back in the days was way to get rich for some people who know how to play, then massmedia came and those people find another way to make money beside the game itself...
People will be playing poker, trying to get rich, because it's seems simple :)

I think people who love poker will play it for the rest of their lives. It's like tea for those who like to drink it or, accordingly, coffee for its connoisseurs. Poker is even more than a habit. Poker is a life!

Beyond the game itself, poker teaches patience, risk management, and psychological insight—skills that often translate into real-life decision-making. Many players find that poker changes their perspective on luck, strategy, and discipline, making them more analytical in everyday situations. Whether for fun or competition, poker has a way of shaping both mindset and lifestyle.

Playing poker can have a big impact on people's lives. On the bright side, it can help improve thinking skills like making decisions, solving problems, and controlling emotions. Players often get better at judging risks and understanding others' behavior, which can be useful in many areas of life.

However, there are also some potential downsides. Poker can become addictive for some people, leading to money problems and negative effects on mental health. It's important for players to be aware of these risks and manage their behavior responsibly to avoid bad consequences.

After meeting with the poker, I realized that you can work for a long time and get nothing for it.

Poker has been played for over 200 years, with its origins tracing back to the early 19th century in the United States. The game evolved from various European and Persian card games, such as Poque (france) and As-Nas (Persia). By the mid-1800s, poker spread along the Mississippi River through gambling saloons and steamboats, eventually becoming a staple of the Wild West. Over time, the game evolved with different variations, including Texas Hold’em, which gained massive popularity in the 20th century, especially after the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was established in 1970.

Poker can be a great way to sharpen decision-making and analytical skills, and it even helps with emotional control. But like any form of gambling, it’s crucial to set limits and stay mindful of the risks. Responsible play is key to making sure the benefits outweigh the downsides

People have been playing poker for over 200 years, and it started in the United States from older card games. Playing poker can help people think better and control emotions, but it can also lead to money loss and stress if not played carefully.

Personally, I have been playing poker for 16 years, but in general, how long people have been playing poker, I don’t know, to be honest, in all these years I haven’t even thought about this question. Of course, a lot has changed in my life after I started playing poker. It depends on how a person treats this game, he can just come to a poker club, play, and the next day wake up and continue living his everyday life, but in my case, everything was different. 16 years ago, I started playing poker, then after about half a year I learned to deal cards and began working as a dealer, since I constantly watched the dealers during the game and I really liked how skillfully they controlled the course of the game, and I was fascinated by it, I also wanted to learn how to do it. Then after some time, I started playing again, made a lot of new acquaintances, from whom I later learned a lot besides poker. In general, I can say that from the moment I started playing, my whole future life is somehow connected with poker. Whether or not something changes in other people's lives after they start playing poker, I can't say, it all depends on what poker is for them and how they feel about it.

The game of poker has been played for almost 150 years. However, poker only brings a touch in the lives of a few people. For the heaviest person, it is just a hobby, a pleasant or a bad pastime.

Poker is a very cool game, because it develops a person's skills and abilities to think strategically and quickly, react sharply, in general, it develops a lot, but the main thing here is to understand all the risks and not get too carried away, it's a cool hobby, but besides that, there's also real life. Therefore, everything should be in moderation.
