Would you ever fold on a free river?

For example: you are BB (or just play any two cards) and get...

:2c4: :5c4:

board comes out

:ah4: :6c4: :3c4: - :9d4: - :js4:

You've been looking for the nut str8 flush or str8 or flush, but no such luck. Would you show that you opened/played with 4/8, or just fold?

open fold for sure, no need to give free information when you end up playing the board

It depends,If I was trying to steal a blind,or was betting to the river, and then checked and lost,I would show sometimes, to show its worth calling me the next time, set loose player image up, other than that..I not care If they know why I wanted to see the flop, ect. it only make it easier for them to get a read on me in the future hands.. and some of these players use their notes.but this is just my thoughts

Umm, if we openfold it's pretty obvious what sort of hand we had, I hope everyone is being sarcastic.

Besides, villain could have 42o obv!

ding ding ding we have a winner

The negative tilt odds against us if villain does have 42o and shows after we open fold obv far outweigh any benefit we might gain from openfolding.

and all the people saying they'd seriously open fold.. that's weird. i've never openfolded in my life. if your opponent isn't smart enough to figure out the type of hand you had when you openfold here, he's not smart enough to use "the information" he'd get by seeing it anyway

I have to agree with the above post.

I always find it funny when people open fold anyway.. Almost every time it happens to me there is just about no way for me to win any other way.

I use it after I don't hit the flop and 2~3 other people in the hand, I don't waste time.

In live. I wait, look or ask them, and sometimes it takes a minute (lol)to see the winner's hand ,they show. I dump, but not like that Online, it doesn't really matter, but then again maby it does ,I know this much when im playing, I don't need to win every hand, nor show..And if I get caught out their,I do OPEN-FOLD if Im holding the 2c5c, no reason to hold/orshow,its a dump...what for so they can count your outs?see how close you were to a win ,they had a fair idea why you were calling anyway,no reason to show.I truly doubt you have a chance winning with the 5c,but then again maby your apponent was holding a 2s4h.lol

This is one of those situations that is so rare that IT DOES NOT MATTER what you do, it wont effect you significantly one way or another.

Personally, I don't think that donks think about what you did or why you did it.

(when this thread was first posted, I had just open folded a similar hand in the cc freeroll)
