If you don't understand this you won't be successful, so what really matters is that you study as much as possible, so that at least on your part you can make the best decisions, the best hands win most of the time, and the more you study and make the best long-term decisions this balance of variance tends to improve.

I know that many people here work outside the home, and have other commitments, thank God I have full time to dedicate myself to this, I just lack the resources to buy courses, but I'm sure I can do it, because I have good results, get used to the variation , study and try to make the best decisions, which in the long term will tend to balance, GG to everyone.

You can play the odds of variance at cash games, being smart, tight-loose at the right times. Patience is key. But in a MT tournie, you have to be more risk-taking, to gain traction to build your stack. If you stick to cash game variance aversion, you will be under-chipped before you realize it. Best advice: For MTT, take more chances, to stay with the chip leadwes.

Good decisions, good quality play will definitely yield good results in the long run. But good decisions require considerable experience, and experience takes time. So, if you have enough time to devote to the game, then you have a chance to become a good player in the long run. If I don't have that kind of time to play, then I have no chance of becoming a good player either. Nevertheless, poker can be a great hobby for any type of player, good or bad, donkey or fish :)

Você pode jogar as probabilidades de variância em cash games, sendo inteligente, tight-loose nos momentos certos. Paciência é a chave.
It's that old story gentlemen, study and play the best game you can play, within what you studied, if in the river the variance destroys your favorable equity, this is not in your control, even the river the equity was in your favor, this means that you made the best decision, and in the long term this has to favor you, after all, the greatest equity is winning most of the time, so the variance will tend in your favor, that's logical, even if in the short term it destroys you, so focus on what you have Control, which is studying a lot, a lot, and taking the The best decisions, the bad ones are not in your control, focus only on what is in your control, the long term will come, and it will dictate the rules.

GG gentlemans.

in poker if you don't get used to the negative variance you will be a losing player and you will end up giving up poker

I completely agree with you. Learning to overcome dispersion is one of the main skills for an experienced player, without which it is impossible to achieve success. This is my problem too, I do not have the patience to learn to overcome it. After a series of bad beats, I start tilting and the result is always the same, I lose my entire bankroll on negative emotions. And this story is constantly repeating itself, time after time. I only realized this half a year ago, since I have never approached this issue professionally. One trainer at one of the poker schools told me that all my failures are due to the fact that I do not have the patience to overcome negative dispersion. The main thing is that I understand this now, and I understand what I need to work on. I knew before what dispersion is and how it works, but for some reason I did not attach importance to the fact that it could be the cause of my failures. But it turned out to be much simpler than I thought.

The effect of dispersion on the result of poker players is different. This is the level of the poker player, emotional state and distance. This is why many people love card games - there are no guarantees that you will win a hand even if you go all-in with nuts on the preflop - pocket aces. In 20% of cases, you will be outplayed. That is why professionals strive to play the distance: the more hands or tournaments are played, the less influence the dispersion has.

After a while it gets boring , all the time bad beats . A long downswing hurts the fun of the game and your bankroll .

Excellent motivation, Zenon! Yes, best decisions are correct, but it is not enough, because you are playing against other players who are also watching your game and analyzing your actions at the table. I think it's much more important to make your game balanced.

Absolutely. Bad beats and variance are inevitable in poker, no matter how skilled you are. Accepting them as part of the game is crucial for long-term success. Instead of tilting or chasing losses, focus on making the right decisions and trust the process. The best players understand that short-term luck fluctuates, but in the long run, skill prevails. Managing emotions, bankroll, and expectations will help you handle variance better and stay in the game without unnecessary frustration.
