Until 18 years old, a child must study.Poker is a cool game, interesting and developing, but it is for those who are over 18 years old.

It is not an activity for high school children to play poker, it is for adults, because it is a matter of responsibility and mature so that to manage poker and its situations! But many of us have played cardgames from preadult age at least without money!

If they want to have some fun in a home game I don't mind. Anything else certainly not.

No . Never . We cannot debate for this . Only persons over 31 should be allowed to play . Not even 18 years old should be allowed . Older than 32 or better older than 25 . gambling is not good for the younger people , they should focus in other things

I wouldn't allow it to my kid. I would definitely talk it down.

I think it's a bad idea to let children under 18 play. It can have a negative impact on their education.

When I was in high school, I discovered cash games through online poker. I didn't have a credit card yet, so I asked my parents to act as my deposit and withdrawal agents. But my parents wouldn't allow me to play poker, saying that "gambling at poker can ruin you. Would you allow your child to play cash games?
Only freerolls. 😀

I understand everything, we were all children and teenagers. But we must not forget that this is a gamble and children at that age are not yet very good at analyzing and thinking about the consequences. Therefore, let them start playing according to the law from the age of 18. I understand that this is important especially when I myself became a father.

Certainly, if they are not at least 18 years old, I would not let them play, and I would think that this age is too young to allow gambling. I think that a player who plays for money should be at least 25 years old, still having life experience at this age.

since gambling can become very addictive, i would say no to cash games for kids, let them hone their skills playing freerolls and fake money, then when they get a job and earn their own money, they can do what they want.

at 11 i started playing the domino's pizza owners who became little ceasar's pizza owners too...my cousin got me into it....I had played cards from jump cribbage hearts spades euchor etc..anyway MY ANSWER is NO most people are not mature enough to handle the pitfalls of poker at that age....Will say I always did well my entire life....but ya I didnt learn poker till 30s truely and fully grasp all of it....when started playing 40 or so games a week etc...tournaments live and online etc...late 30s closer to 40 was when understood psychology of poker so ya its a lifetime thing....but ya should at least be 18 before playing serious poker....if your playing for quarters with buddies under 200 bucks id say ok....but not serious poker

To generate real money you must be of legal age, since child labor is punishable by law.

I think that if they want to learn the game to play it and learn it, but not with money, that can ruin their future and create additions to the bet

The age varies from country to country, but as a rule real money gambling should not be allowed for minors

I think we should teach financial management, educate our children to know how to manage their money, time and other things. This will make them more mature and organized when they reach adulthood. In their education, even when they are teenagers, we have to set limits for them, encourage them to study the game, to make it a profitable hobby. And if they want to pursue it as professionals, I, as a father, will support them.

In my opinion, gambling is not for children. Different kinds of gambling, such as poker or slots, can lead to psychological problems that a child will not even be aware of, and this, in turn, can lead to addiction.

I was playing all kinds of different card games including poker with my grandmother before the age of 10 for pennies and nickels using my allowance.

So yes I would let and would even help teach my kid how to play and help them deposit money to play online and allow them to play in mine and my buddies home game. Long as they showed maturity and were responsible. I'd also set and allow them only a certain amount of time or MTT's a week and would expect them to have a healthy relationships away from being online too much. School grades wouldn't be allowed to suffer either....can't keep the grades up and meet every other condition I set then you can't play poker.

Show your kids you trust them, learn and teach your kids to be respectful and responsible and they'll grow be honest, respectful and responsible. That's how I was brought up.....I turned out just fine despite growing up in a neighborhood that worse then most of you had.

Cheers!!!

Only if they could show that they are a proven winner at whatever stakes they are choosing to play at and are practicing good Bankroll Management (occasional shot-taking allowed obviously).

BUT I refuse to listen to any badbeat stories... AND if I hear one 'RIGGED' comment coming out of their mouths their internet privileges will be cut off immediately!

how they sign up to a site will be on them. I would take no part in it. I would prefer if they chose to hold off and wait until they are at least 10years old before signing up to an online poker site. I understand that it is likely they can be a proven winning micro stakes player at under 10yrs. of age but I think it's important that they focus on their 'times tables' (ie. basic math that will be essential to their poker careers - multiplication & division, %, ratios etc)

Check out this Hyper Turbo 6-max SnG specialist!! When your top set of QQ vs. AK (air... ie. @freerobert ) doesn't hold vs. runner runner straight, just know that some young online superstar grinder might be on the other end of that internet connection.
