I think this relies on a mix of two things.
Firstly how soft the table is. In general I'm not going to leave a soft table. Even if chip stacks get a little deeper as this should just amplify our edge.
We shouldn't really be playing in games we don't have an edge in... It's bad poker.
Secondly is how comfortable you are as the effective stack size gets larger on tables you have LESS of an edge on.
Some tables will have more regs and maybe only a fish or two but we still want to be there to play against the fish. Then we will need to pay attention to who has how many chips and what size of pot we are willing to play with them.
On tables I have a lower edge on I tend to look to leave when I'm going to be made to play for my 200bb stack often vs regs, whether it be through them aggressivly 3-Betting or 4-Betting, however if even the other regs are passive but they are just deep It's a good spot to wait around and hope the fish stacks a reg and you can play vs the fish for a 200bb stack half of which was a reg's money that would have been harder to get otherwise.
Just don't play on tables you don't have an edge on and then you don't have to make hard and fast rules, you can make looser rules that will make you more money in the long run as they will be adaptable to in game conditions
