You have got to love a hand like this.

There had been a whale at this table who had just sat out. Villain was 25/10/1 after about 80 hands. Looked like a typical weak passive type of player. Suddenly burst into life and donks flop, then calls when I raise. I strike gold on the turn and he donks again, and calls another raise. Can't believe my luck. The river is just a joke really, I can't really fathom what he is getting carried away with but he is kind enough to jam the lot in and I have the easiest call in the world.

More villains like this please at the cash tables please, poker gods :D

Great Hand GreenDaddy!

Always nice to get what's basically a free stack from your opponent :)

Another fun one last night at 5nl 6 max.

Open 66 UTG, SB calls. Flopped quads, board has a flush draw. Villain donks, I call. Turn completes the flush, villain bets again, I call. Villain jams the river with his flush and we take all the money, happy days :)

Exactly. Its rare to see someone donk betting on all 3 streets. This opponent was really stubborn, and if I had to guess, he was probably on some sort of tilt. Cant imagine, that the river donk is for value, after the K paired. So it seems like, he turned his top pair into a bluff, because he just did not want to give up. Or maybe he thought, the K helped him, because now he had two pair :)

It's really nice when we see such a hand and such an increase on the postflop. You don't have to make anything up: you just take chips away from your opponent, that's fine.)

I have actually had this similar situation work for me late reg MTTs in the last five minutes. So many people will buyin and try and double or triple their stack on a lucky hand.
I wait until i get a good hand to play and let them ship their stack
I have actually quadrupled my stack with this method a few times. Then i wait until late reg is over and most people play normal after that.
Doesn't always work. Sometimes i get busted. But I never feel bad if i played with good cards

Though hat kind of "donking" mostly happens in low and micro-stakes, it never fails to shockingly surprise me. The donk on the flop could be somewhat understandable, and even the call after your raise, but the persistance, especially on the river shows that there is still money to be made in those stakes.
Like you said, more players like that is what we need from the poker gods....

You just got lucky with your opponent. Apparently he's young and thought you were bluffing.
