Uneven blinds?

Hi,
I started on 2c/4c rings and have moved up to 5c/10c and I am making preparations for going up again and would like to ask:

Is playing on tables with odd blinds good? I have seen the 2c/5c tables on some sites and the next level for the site I am at is 10c/25c. Does this difference in blinds (BB not = 2 x SB) make calling from the SB less EV?

Should I keep building my roll till I'm am able to play 25c/50c to keep the same values in the SB as I have at my current level? I understand that there are few times calling from the SB is +EV but see the odd blinds as taking those few times away from me which would lead me to adjust and the re-adjust when I do get to 25c/50c and beyond?

Play slightly tighter in the small blind when it is smaller because you have to pay a bigger price relative to the bb to see a flop. This is more important in limit, but is applicable in no limit too, especially if you are not coming in with a raise or re-raise.

do NOT play 10nl until you are rolled for 50. the difference in skill level if you try to make that jump will probably not do you good.

that said, also do not over-adjust to the difference in blinds. consider it just a rebate of the regular price for playing the worst position on the table. after all, it is just .1 of a bb. play as you normally would, perhaps only a fraction tighter in the SB than usual - and by "a fraction" i mean perhaps limp/steal 1% less hands

The OP states I'm already playing 10NLHE as I am rolled for that with +$200 bankroll. And in the case of the next level (25NLHE) the SB is 40% of the BB instead of the normal 50%.

I understand to slightly tighten up for that 10% more to call but asking if I should just stay at 10NLHE till I'm rolled to skip the 25NL and go straight to 50NLHE so to not having to adjust for the buy-in alone and having to re-adjust for 50NL and above.

If you are consistently crushing the level you are at then move up and take a few shots, if it does not work out drop back down a level, good luck.

Makes no real difference IMO, I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill.

Nobody will be changing their open raise sizes in these games just because the SB isn't quite half the BB. They'll still open for 2.5BB, 3BB, 5 or 10BB, whatever is normal for them. If you choose to call or raise them, then you'll be putting in the same as you would have in a "normal" game.

If it's limped around to you in the SB and you decide for whatever reason to just complete, then you'll have put 1BB into the pot. As opposed to a "normal" game where you'd... also have put exactly 1BB into the pot. Can you see where I'm going with this?

The only time it makes any real difference are the times when you fold preflop from the small blind (which will be a lot of the time given it's the worst position at the table, right?). On those occasions you're actually saving money compared to a "normal" game since the SB is smaller.

it seems we had a mis-communication somewhere. i read the OP and got it. i was saying, "do not stay at 10, move up when your BRM allows you to". the rest of my post was just this, with more words:

Personally I don't feel that too much changes from level to level with the exception of a few less out right donks.
