I don't play cash games, or rather, I play very rarely. I've lost too much money. But the biggest pot on the table that I remember was about $180.What's the most you've ever had in front of you at a cash table
Wow that's crazy! Good job$113,500

People who can afford to play for those stakes should do something more productive than play poker.$113,500

Well, I think the jury is still out on this. On one side I partly agree and do not play poker for a living - rarely more than NL1000 these days. But if we extrapolate on your opinion you are basically saying that the real high stakes players - like Negreanu and Ivey - should refrain from playing poker. And then there is the question of productivity. Should rich people not be able to speculate and make money on stock trading? Where is the productivity in that line of work? Or daytrading. For further reflection on this topic I can recommend a book written by a friend of mine. Ole Bjerg: Poker - The Parody of Capitalism (Michigan University Press.)People who can afford to play for those stakes should do something more productive than play poker.
Thanks. That is one to remember for sure. As far as I know some of the sponsored players were obligated to participate in the leading poker communities. I am under the impression that players as a whole liked this. These days the poker world has changed. Only a few sponsored players today - and a certain fatigue in sharing their experiences in poker forums, let alone participating in charity events.Gives me old school and old time vibes here. Back to when sponsored players and pro's at Pokerstars use to come down, hang-out and play with us rec/hobby players at 2nl, 5nl and 10nl sometimes. Don't know if it was in their contracts or not but many did it anyway. Some of them weekly. Of course it the stakes never got near this it was pretty cool to sit, chat, play and carry on with the sponsored pros. Most of which surprisingly took it pretty serious and didn't play us soft despite the stakes being for pennies too them. A lot of them were also pretty nice, humble and came a crossed as avg guys and girls. As I recall Joe Hackem was the only one that was and came a crossed as a complete dick to everyone. What a jackass. Always gotta be 1 in every group I guess.
Nice work there @Jean-Guy. Bet felt pretty amazing after that session.
Cheers!!!

Quite the run up. Honestly back to playing on Bovada/ignition some 25 an 50NL, i think this kind of run up is probably possible lol.Online playing 50nl back when I first started. Bought in for the max $50 and ran that up too $800+. Left table with $800.
I remember those days. I remember on Full Tilt playing with Chris "Jesus" Ferguson to my left lol.Gives me old school and old time vibes here.
