petition to rename this topic, "this is why donks are so awesome".

if he's calling off a ~100bb stack with KJs, he's an idiot and your LAG play probably had very little to do with it.

Think you missed this one Dorkus. Joose says up top he had played LAG maniac for an hour, which undoubtedly had a big effect on opponent, who could feel extremely confidant that jooose was FOS.

LAG being what it is, and maniacal on top of that, that style finally put opponent over the edge. LAG/Manical does that to a lot of people, and I think the point of the post was that occasionally the LAG/ Maniac actually gets a hand.

I agree with DM here. The guy is a donk. If you have a LAG image villain was pretty stupid to gamble his whole stack ($122) with KTs. He either wasn't paying any attention to you or he has no clue on how to play against a LAG.

That said, god job Joose. When I look at your HH's it seems like you have a knack not only at finding these donks but most of all taking advantage of them, which is the sign of a good player. Also, I'm convinced that playing LAG is the way to go to make big profits, although it is a very hard style to play. If you are having success at it, then definitely keep it up as it will make your BR grow at a much faster rate.

after stacking off one buy in as an image builder with a 4 high gutshot i made 3 more by shoving 99 and getting called by K7 on a 7 high flop (i shoved 100bb into a 10bb pot), JJ vs AK on a TTQ board, and this hand. he was a very moderately average player that stooped to "my level of play". that's the power in LAG, imo. you play like an idiot until they decide to make a very marginal move on you when you have a very solid hand, and that's when you take their money.

To really get under their skin, you should follow up your "yep" reply with "crap, misread my hand again".

Sorry joose, had nothing to do with the image you built up, just playing with random donks, Dorkus is right as always.

(what level of sarcasm is that? :p )

It reality its a combo of the 2. You've built up the maniac image and they don't know how to respond.

i never said they were great players. i said that when marginal players stoop their level of playing (with hands like KT/AJ/K7) i get to chose when the money goes into the pot as i am always the aggressor. i wonder what type of hand i'll get the money in the pot with vs them? :)

lol...anything to convince themselves to call :/

I'm sure your LAG image had some influence over the hands; these guys are obvious monkeys, but if you've been showing down crap turned gold, they're just plain more likely to pay you off with garbage.

nhs sir.

I also agree with DM. Although I'd rename the topic: "THIS is how LAG can tilt certain donkeys into calling". You got lucky that you found some folks that would call you with 2nd class stuff. Try this at a tougher table and see what happens.

Good job, dude. But beware, also.

pretty cool post.....this LAG style is very similar to my (hey fellas I'm on tilt and just having fun style) LOL It's amazing how many times you can stack when the donks at the table believe it's just that and are just waiting to crush you when either your luck runs out or when they have the nuts .....but hey thats how you get idiots to call raises with k-10 off or top pair 7 off the flop./////

peace

You dont call a 122BB stack all in at ring if At best your 60/40. Even if you know your 60/40 you should fold. And that is a small at best chance. Hes a donk.

What's funny is, is that I play a great LAG game, but I forget that I can't afford to lose the buy in to establish the image :) lol

I don't think I'd even call the the $3 raise, let alone reraise the LAG after that.

Why risk such a huge stack on a marginal hand IMO.

Hmm... I've always been taught that any edge you have in a cash game (such as 51% to 49%) merits a call, and you shouldn't be afraid to lose your stack if you feel you are ahead in the hand (since you can always reload, unlike a tournament).
I think that your logic here is more of a tournament thought process, whereas a 60/40 advantage is an instacall all-in in a cash game.

How can you be "on tilt and just having fun" at the same time? Just wondering.

We can go on and on and on debating this. Were just going to have to agree to disagree. I would fold, i prefer poker to roulette.

the lag player definitly sets people off and everyone wants to call or see someone call , but NOT with k10s , id only call with big pp,i want to hit the flop hard then let the lag hang himself so i can go all in on river or reaise big on turn. i would definitly like to learn more about lag style so i could add a little to my game. they always seem to be winning in the tourneys , i dont know about ring games.jmo

I've seen some great LAG players online and they usually make out well on the cash tables. I play LAG in tourneys and do really well, I just can't get the hang of the style in ring games. I've been trying it lately and I just lose buyin after buyin after buyin I double up once or twice and lose it just as fast.
