You did everything right, but kickace obviously didn't have a spade or any card that would pair up with the cards on the flop. He may have had 9-10 suited (not spades) or something like that which he can't realistically stay in the hand with.

With an overpair in limit hold'em you have to make that bet.

perfectly played...aggression is key
maybe even a check to show fear of the spades on the flop then put in a raise if he falls for it but like they say, forget the fancy stuff, just pound away
nicely done

Then you would be cheating.

Seriously dude. This is a "Limit" hand.

I agree with the others. You have to bet here. If nothing else to see where you are. If you are reraised then you have to think very hard what the other guy coould have. He could have flopped a set and is trying to push hard on the draws. You got the other side. He didn't catch anything but you couldn't let him ride even one spade without him paying.

Standard.

Range for the usual overaggroish villain considering he folded would be smthn like AQ-AT or a mid-high pocket pair (77-QQ?).

What he said. Except that I find it unlikely that he'd fold QQ-99 here, I think he'd peel a card or maybe even call down, but hard to say without reads.

If you had smoothcalled preflop and then gone for a checkraise on the flop, it's possible you could have gotten one more bet out of him (presuming he'd call the CR and fold the turn lead) but it's also possible that he would just have checked his 99 and folded to a turn lead, in which case you'd have lost a bet because you didn't raise preflop.

Capping preflop and then checking, on the other hand, is awful. You've said "I have a top 10 hand", and checking on the flop reeks of slowplay. You have to bet and hope he has AK or KQ.

Well played.

You played it perfectly. Keeping betting and raising. It's a shame you couldn't get more chips out of that hand but I'm sure you're not complaining.
