Is this too much vs a relative unknown? What other line could we take? What does his limp-cold call PF mean?

pokerstars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

SB ($10)

UTG ($53.95)
UTG+1 ($52.95)
Hero ($57.20)
MP2 ($32.40)
CO ($15.20)
Button ($19.85)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A

K10, KK, 22, 44 all seem within a poor NL50 player's range here. Of course, so do a lot of other hands we beat.

I'd say set miner or AK/KQ.....maybe a tricky KK.

I don't like the line though. PF and Flop are fine. I check behind on the turn and re-evaluate the river, mostly probably value-betting for around 1/2 to 2/3 pot.

The all-in bet there is probably a bad idea. It folds out almost every hand you are ahead of except someone who stacks of with top pair. It will get called every time by the hands that beat you, sets and two pairs. There's no harm in giving a free or cheap card with no scary draws on the board.

This is 50nl - people stack TP like it's their job.

I do agree that checking the turn for pot control is a good idea though. Still not sure about my whole line here...

They also stack off with overpairs :)

I try to play overpairs in that situation roughly the same as a play TPTK: I'm trying to keep the pot under control by value betting 2 of the 3 streets.

Since you are in position here, I'd say 1/2-2/3 pot on the flop (which you did) on the turn and hopefully check behind on the river.

I am expecting to see pocket 4s or 2s here. He limped to try and see a cheap flop and figured his implied odds were high enough to call your raise. AK is possible but I would expect a raise pre flop, same with KK.

I don't think there's much to add here. I definitely agree with you all that the push is too much; I don't think it's absolute spew, but it isn't exactly great either.

He ended up looking me up with AK and I held.

Before reading your reply I thought this is almost always AK. KK would likely get it in PF. Unless they are an idiot they won't play 1010 this way. I'd be surprised to see someone pay this much PF to set mine with 22 or 44.

Well fwiw I've seen people call with a lot worse. 22/44 doesn't fit his preflop line too well but is definitely in his range, but his postflop line could easily have been a set. I think KQs/o might be in here too.
