Welcome to the forum. In poker we dont play a hand backwards depending on, what the outcome would have been. It seems like, you posted, which is a losing play in itself. So the first advice is to not post but wait for the blinds to come around to you. However as played 52o is a clear fold facing a 4BB raise, since its one of the worst possible starting hands.

Finally VPIP means Voluntarely Put Into Pot. Raising preflop is called PFR, and just because someone play many hands (high VPIP) does not always mean, they raise a lot. So maybe this raise from BTN was actually a somewhat decent hand, whereas if he had a marginal hand, he would have limped behind your post and then check.

Also I don't think you should fold flop, you have pair and open ended straight draw!

Dude, it looks like you're not fit for NL 5 yet, play freerolls for now.:) You shouldn't have ended up with this hand here, and if you did, you should have played a check-raise here, not a call, and certainly not a pass. You have the second nuts here, the only hand that beats you here is 5-7.

yes that btn player may have a high vpip ( and I want to play with him because I will win pots from him because he is opening too many hands ) however i will not be wanting to open very low cards and weak cards. I have a set of 6 max opening hand charts and I try to follow those charts because it allows me to open post rake plus EV hands only and gives me a equity advantage against opponents who open too wide ( and have high vpips). I don't know if you have those opening charts but I think they can be found for free online if you looking for them. thanks for posting to original poster.

I guess that would be true if the price was lower.
but it's 1.25 to 1 for the pot
so i don't think the odd were good for the lowest pair and a straight draw.
but i don't have a solver to calculate the exact odds here!

Ah misread it. OK there is literally nothing to analyse then!
Its a rabbit hunting hand. He would have turned a straight, so he is asking, if he should have played his hand, because the result would most likely have been favourable.

This hand presents a similar scenario as that hand where we are entering into a pot with 52s from UTG. In this case we have 52o from CO but the idea follows the same: fold preflop. This is not a playable combo for this limit. We play combos like these from NLHE 1000 and farther. I can't see any scenario at low and mid stakes where it can be profitable to open combos like 52o.
