25NL: OESD against LAG

Villain is like 33/29 over 30 hands or so, basically running over the table. I 3bet him once preflop from the SB and he folded to a c-bet on the flop.

His range is pretty wide here but he could have something given the low flop and the fact he called behind rather than his usual raise.


Is an OESD with overs and a backdoor flush draw good enough for a 3-bet here?

There are generally no good lags at the micros, and so I don't expect him to be able to fold any top pair hand or pair+draw hand, so I like just calling.

He'll pay you off when you hit - the 7 completes some draws for him, as well as some two pair hands that can't fold, and the queen will seem like a blank.

That's probably the best advice but honestly you have so much equity against his range here I don't mind gambling. The problem for hero is being OOP and if the turn bricks he has to fold to a big bet from QT or random 7.

on flop, i would most likely auto-3bet because i love my equity here, but chuck does have a point. it just makes the turn a bitch to play when a blank hits.

I think your getting okay odds to get paid off on a later street, especially if this is a very aggressive player who does have a piece of this board.

Just trying to pick your mind on bet sizing and reasoning. If you did raise it preflop how much? $2-3?

Also wondering what you would normally 3-bet to on the flop, and what your action is on turn that doesn't hit your hand....I seem to get stuck in these situations often.

$2 seems about right. a little more than pot-sized.

If I 3bet flop, i'd probably bump it up to $7 or something like that. If called, I'm barreling most turn cards.

And tbh, i don't know how profitable this line is. Would really need to analyse this better. It just feels nice.

He never showed down his hands so I was getting fairly certain that he was simply picking situations/spots to try to push people off regardless of whether he had something or not. So by saying that he has a wide range, it's quite possible it's air.

Later on the only two hands I saw were check/call to the river with middle pair that gave him trips on the river and a three barrel bluff that he was happy to show off.

I didn't know these last two when this hand came up, but I had a sense that this was going on at the time, which is why my first reaction was to try to see if I had enough of a hand to 3-bet the flop. Even at this earlier stage I thought calling was the worst option as I was very sure he was going to bet or raise the turn.


Does that affect the choice of action at this point?

he is never raising you on this board with air. you have like 0 fold equity vs lags at 25NL. I would just flat and re-evaluate the turn
