You've limped first in preflop. This is something you should literally never do: if everyone before you has folded, you should raise or fold every hand (the only exception to this is if you're in the small blind). I don't think we should discuss what you do on this flop the way you played it because you should never be in that situation to begin with.

If you had raised and the BB calls, then yes, you should absolutely bet the Flop (and possibly the Turn as well). This is because the Flop is good for your range, which is the set of hands you play in that position. Again it's because you raised: you would raise with a set of hands that have a lot of Ts and Qs in them, whereas the opponent from the BB could call with just about anything, making their range include relatively fewer Ts and Qs.

Honestly though, since you limped in preflop, it seems like you are lacking some pretty basic poker theory. I think at this point, learning poker theory would be a more effective way to improve than analyzing hands.

Don't make your life complicated, play better hands preflop. Study basic strategy if you are a new player.

I'm probably not a good person to ask this because I haven't consumed that much variety. I've learned the basics from pokerstrategy.com way back, and then more recently before I went professional, I got the... advanced basics?/theory?/idk from Jonathan Little's courses on pokercoaching.com.

pokercoaching.com is way way way more comprehensive, although his course does start at the beginning. That's certainly one way to do it.

I have read listened to poker books as well but they've all been on exploitatative stuff rather than fundamentals.

Anyway though if the book you mentioned doesn't tell you not to have a limping range, it's probably not a good book for beginners.

hi thanks for posting to poster.
with the caveat that I'm not an experienced player myself, limping preflop is a huge fundamental mistake and is costing you money. the mistakes preflop ( what hands you open etc) compound and contribute to postflop mistakes where you have more money on the line.
as mentioned by others this is a very good board (if you had raised ) since you are in the Button Position and on this board texture you have the Nut Advantage and Range Advantage. I like this situation for a bluff (on turn or river)but this hand is not an open and so you could fold preflop here in this spot is how I play. . yeah. get some opening hand charts perhaps ( I'm not sure about courses or resources...but you could ask in the other section of forums.). thanks for posting. Also, be advised cardschat (this site) has a good free course.
came back to edit the course name here in cardschat is called : become a winning poker player in 30 days. I think you can find in the strategy section. fyi.

thank you!
also is there any youtube channels that you would suggest?
CC is also on Youtube including the 30 day course. Until you have completed that and fully taken in the different concepts, other channels might be more confusing than helpfull.
