Well played.I wont shove the river cause there still possibility the villain could had been holding up Ace of spade(just to be cautious).

Well i would not have shoved the river there - that was a huge over bet by the way on the river. We are most likely holding the best hand on the river so the first thing that comes to mind is a value bet because you want villain to call your bet, shoving might not get us paid. If we try to get a bit tricky then going for a check-raise is the next option that comes to mind.

So shoving is never seen as an ideal move as an ace high flush will call you and most other hands will fold.

River shove is ridiculous. You are looking for value, so bet like 3 dollars or something. Just think....if villain didn't have a flush here.... You most likely would not be getting payed. In this instance it worked out for you, but villain has to fold all but the top of his range. This is pretty poorly played tbh. Size smaller on flop, and way smaller on river.

That was a big bet on the flop. If you were tryin to push him off 3/4 pot would have looked a little more believable. Turn sizing was good and river was massive! I'm surprised villain called that bet. Did you have a read on him?

Check Raise or bet 1/2 pot and 4bet a re-raise IMO.

For what it's worth my advice and 1.50 will buy you a cup of cheap coffee. Good for you for getting a call! :)

It depends upon your read on villain.

Value betting, overbetting or shoving are all good.

Take note, hero actually overbets on the river.

I kind of had 2 thoughts,
1- hoped he had smaller flush so think he would have called any bet
2 - or he may have had 2pair or flopped Set and made it look like i had Ace spades and missed my draw

Looking back def agree overbet ok but it was tooooo big a bet, did have 6 tables at once and usually 4 comfortable so not always optimum decisions for me

Thanks for the input guys

With a smaller flush he would had gone over the top on a smaller bet. With the nuts it is just a cooler. With a straight it is more likely you can get value with smaller bets. Same with sets.

Your river play is fine. Do not shove as no weaker hand will call you...

1. Yes..... You are HOPING. It is unlikely villain has a worse flush than you. Villain more likely holds Ax then a smaller flush as played.

2. I think we can eliminate flopped sets from his range because he didn't raise flop or turn.

All in all.... You sized a bet that could literally ONLY be called on river by smaller flushes 3x and maybe the odd two pair. When your hand is essentially nutted like this.... Don't u want a call? I don't mind the over bet..... But it's way too big an overbet, just my opinion
