Everyone starts with a small bounty, when you eliminate someone you get there bounty, indicated below their name.
Every time you eliminate someone your own bounty increases, hence surviving to the end game and eliminating people becomes highly profitable.

So, do you get the amount of bounty if you are eliminated before ITM, or even during ITM? Or does it mean that the winner of bounty builder gets ultimately all bounties?

Yes I think, off the top of my head, knockout tournaments just have a smaller guaranteed prize pool than the Bounty Builder.

I am watching one of these now on stars. $1.10 NLHE 2k guaranteed with a 25c bounty. If you knock someone out you get 25c for doing that, plus your own bounty goes up by 25c. So you need to knock 4.5 people out to get your buy in back (at a minimum of 25c), but you may get it back in one go if you knock a higher bounty out !
Payout looks like this ...
2333 total prize pool (2333 players x $1 , with stars taking 2333 * .1)
Regular prize 1116.5
Bounty prize 1116.5 (so every player starts with a value of 50c) If I knock you out, I get 25c and 25c gets added to my accumulating bounty.
Seems like a nice tournament, because you can get in the money in the normal manner, but you also get rewarded for being aggressive and knocking players out.
For me an obvious advantage is that you get rewarded throughout the tournament. If you get to the final table and go card dead, you will still have accumulated some earnings on the way.
