The PokerStars Championship of Online Poker (COOP) wrapped up its September 2021 version by crowning champions in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
In all, PokerStars collected 54,830 entries across 196 events in three states, which generated a collective prize pool north of $5.2 million. For its effort, PokerStars made $341,582 in tournament fees.
Guarantees were missed 15 times for a total of $16,900. New Jersey led the way in overlays with $14,850 across 10 events, including a $6,200 hit in a $200, $25,000-guarantee event that attracted 94 entries. Michigan missed four guarantees for only $950 in overlays, while Pennsylvania had one tourney miss its guarantee by $1,100 — a $100 Stud Hi/Lo 6-Max event that attracted 69 entries with an $8,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The COOPs across the three states took place between Sept. 10-27.
Pennsylvania
The Keystone State led the COOP race with 25,596 entries generating $2.38 million in prizes and $181,817 in fees for PokerStars across 69 events.
Several players stood out with multiple wins. Casey “superdonkeydave” Hatmaker and “TheBigSlick74” each won three events, while Michael “fubadbeatbob” McNichols, Vince “FuglyFunGuy” Lestingi, “anachronismKB,” “Blivot,” and “dubbadell,” each won two titles.
“Hondoribbia” won the two-day $300 championship on Monday for $36,400 and a trophy. The tourney generated the highest prize pool of the series as 851 entries built it to $238,280.
PokerStarsPa’s ambassador Mark “NaigoPA” Foresta didn’t win an event, but made four final tables, while Keith “whoopsboom” Becker scored a third-place finish.
Michigan
With 18,636 entries, Michigan players generated $1.79 million in prizes and $112,499 in fees for PokerStars across 68 events.
The star of the MICOOP had to be “Meatballs9000,” who took down four tournaments. Two of them were four-player max events, including a $200 No-Limit Hold’em tourney for $6,173 and a $50 No-Limit Hold’em event for $2,009. He then took down the last two events of the series, the $200 Championship Trophy event for $3,765, and the $150 “last chance” event for $5,282.

Corey “Corgasm231” Paggeot and Tim “BishPlz94” Bishop each won three MICOOP events. Paggeot won the $1,000 8-Max, High Roller Championship for $17,645, while Bishop’s best win was in a $100 event for $5,800.
Paggeot took down two of his events in two days.

Paggeot cashed for more than a quarter-million dollars in both live and online tourneys, including a win in the WSOP Online Summer Circuit series this year for $24,204.
“WadeDavenport” had a good series, taking down two events, including the $300 championship for $31,000. He also won a $75 buy-in Big Stack event for $2,977, which had a $250 overlay. Paul “grandma1967” Mattioda, “1WINATATIME,” “248donkey,” “atokorekt,” “ChipzNCheeze,” and “PowerRanges,” also won two MICOOP events each.
New Jersey
The NJCOOP had 10,598 entries, which generated $1.1 million in prizes across 59 events and $48,476 in tournament fees.
It seems that PokerStars New Jersey promised a bit too much after it was forced to lay out more than $14,850 for missing guarantees in 10 events. In addition to missing in the $200, $25,000 event for $6,200, it’s $1,000, $40,000 guaranteed missed by $3,000 after attracting 37 entries, while a $150, $20,000 guarantee missed by $2,450. The rest of the overlays were under $900 each.
Sridhar “sri100k” Sangannagari won the NJCOOP $300 Championship Event for $18,660. Gregory “MisAnnthr0pe” Donatelli and Naichang “cncly1314” Chen won three titles each, while Daniel “loxonbagel” Buzgon, “AvaGray,” Belmat714@,” “iFoldN0T,” and, “Tagubhai” each won two events.
