Alaska Troopers Hunt for Two Suspects in Home-Game Poker Robbery

2 min read

Alaska State Troopers in the Fairbanks area are continuing their search for two of three men who staged an armed robbery of a private poker game earlier this month. On April 11th, three armed men burst into a Fairbanks home where a game was being held and robbed the players of roughly $3,000.

The robbery and its perpetrators were recorded by multiple videocams, but to date, only one of the three men involved has been jailed. Fairbanks-area officers identified and arrested Antuiohn Arazo, 23, on April 22, charging him first-degree robbery (robbery with a deadly weapon), which is a Class A felony under Alaska law. Such felonies are punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Arazo remains incarcerated at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility while the hunt continues for his accomplices. He was previously arrested in 2016 for a violent home invasion, assault, and robbery that netted him, and three other robbers, a gun, some camera equipment, and roughly an ounce of marijuana. Arazo pled guilty to two of five charges in that earlier armed robbery case.

In a move that implies that Arazo has neither confessed to the poker-game robbery, nor named his presumptive accomplices, the Alaska State Troopers Public Information Office has posted video clips from the victims’ security cameras that show the other two men involved. Each brief video clip lasts just a few seconds and captures both the face and clothing of the at-large men involved.

The video clips are downloadable via the troopers’ office’s latest update on their ongoing search for the robbers. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Alaska State Troopers at (907) 451-5100 and reference case number AK21040856.
