The sign of any successful poker tour is usually seeing it make a return from its inaugural season. Big name or small, enough exciting stops and dramatic poker action will have viewers and players alike thirsting for more. If enough momentum is built early on, it’s not uncommon for a tour to incorporate more stops in its future schedule. And for the Players Poker Championship Poker Tour’s second season, it’s no different.
Successful Season Start
The Players Poker Championship (PPC) is recognized for hosting poker tournaments throughout the United States and internationally. Whether playing domestically or in exotic locales, the PPC has strived to give both professional and amateur players an outlet to play entertaining tournaments.
Season Two of the PPC Poker Tour has already drastically increased in size in comparison to Season One. In fact, this season has already taken the tour to a few exciting stops earlier this year. January saw Jordan Wunder take the Tampa Bay Downs Winter Fest. The $50,000 guaranteed Main Event took place on January 19 at The Silks Poker Room.
March paved the way for two additional series. Norbert Kara won the Florida Spring Poker Stakes $50,000 Main Event which also took place at The Silks Poker Room. Tom Gleason was victor at the $50,000 Main Event for the Ft. Pierce Spring Classic. Each of these three events had 20 percent of its prize pools paid out in packages towards entry and travel to the upcoming PPC Aruba event in October.
Updated Schedule of Stops
For the remainder of Season Two, the PPC will make several stops in Florida and other locations throughout the summer and fall of 2014. The next destination for Season Two is the Casino Miami Poker Classic which takes place May 27 through June 1. Next on the books is the Dania South Florida Showdown from June 3-8. The Golden Nugget Desert Open starts on June 29 and ends July 1. PokerNews will report live at the North America Championship from July 10-20.
Recently added by PPC is the Ocala Poker Summer Splash which takes place on July 29 through August 3. As the tenth stop in Florida for 2014, the Ocala Poker event features a $30,000 guaranteed Main Event. Following Ocala is the Horseshoe Tunica event from August 20-24. The Casino Miami Kickoff Series takes place August 12-17 with the Pensacola Summer Showdown going from August 27-31.
September brings the last round of tournaments before the final series of events. The PPC returns to Fort Pierce with the Fort Pierce Poker Open running September 2-7. Both the Tampa Downs Fall Classic and Dania Fall Challenge are set for September but the exact dates have not been announced.
Bound for Aruba
The finale of the PPC Poker Tour will kick off on October 15 at the Radisson Aruba Resort with the Aruba World Championship. PokerNews will again be providing live coverage for the event which ends on October 21. The Aruba Championship features a $2,200 buy-in, $200,000 guaranteed Main Event.
PPC is also offering several satellite events to help give lucky players a shot at attending the Aruba World Championship. Back on April 26, two of these satellites were underway with the Silks Monthly Aruba Getaway and the Radisson Aruba Poker Series. May 24 and June 28 will see two additional satellite opportunities at the Silks Poker Room. From May until August, the Maryland Live! Aruba Satellite Series will provide even more chances to attend the PPC Poker Tour’s finale.
